Where the hell did July go?? It seems only a week since I added the last entry! Anyhow for those of you who care work continues on the Laundry Lane ground with, apparently, the soon to be commissioned toilet - with water about to make an appearance! Work on extending the pitch is also well under way. Please note that all Reserve friendlies will be taking place on the Recreation ground pitch until further notice.

We've all been missing the footy this closed season - no Euro Championships, No World Cup - OK - there was the Under 21s - but that lasted about 20 minutes and we lost on penaltys...again!! So - to break the boredom - Dunmow had 3 sides in the annual Barnston 5 a side competition, sadly we were unable to progress beyond the group stages..but at least we didn't get knocked out on penalties.
The Sunday side had a strong side out and achieved a creditable 2 wins, 1 draw and a loss - see the Sunday Side match reports section for details.
The Saturday side had a mixed 1st and Reserves side out which achieved 2 losses, a win and a draw - see either the 1st team match reports section or the reserve team match reports section for details.
Finally the Vets had a combined 1sts, reserves and youngsters(!) team out who managed a draw, a loss and a win in their division

Dunmow will have 2 teams competing in the annual Barnston 5-a-side competition on 30th June 2007. Dunmow were runners up in this competition last year.
10/06/07 - End of Season Bash

Some of the Dunmow FC Division 2 Cup Winners celebrate their victory
Dunmow 1st team celebrated promotion to the Mid Essex Division 1 after a great season that included winning the Division 2 cup and reaching the final of the Essex Junior Trophy. Congratulations lads! Congratulations go to top scorer Scott Forbes for a great season.
Check out some more photos from the clubs end of season bash here.
Dunmow Vets 1st team made an excellent debut in the Greene King Essex Veterans League. (Final Tables awaited)
Both reserve teams had a "difficult" season - but hats off to the Vets Reserves who played in the Bishop's Stortford, Stansted & District League - which is a standard open age league - and lasted the season. They should be in a great position to do well in their debut season in the Essex Veterans League next season.
If the senior reserve side hadn't defaulted so many games they would surely have finished far higher than the 11th position they achieved The player manager - Super Striker Seton - would like to remind all reserve players that he did indeed score 3 goals this season despite being a fat bastard and being in his 40th year ;-). Top scorer for the season - Duncan Taylor would like to point out he scored substantially more goals than Super Striker Seton!
